The Office of Research Communications, Development & Learning announced today that we are awarded the Research & Scholarly Development Grant jointly with the Audia lab (College of Medicine). "RSDG grants are intended to stimulate interactions across disciplines, departments, colleges, and programs. The funding is designed to facilitate preliminary data collection or planning efforts to assist in the development of competitive proposals that will attract external funding" - RCDL Office. With this grant, we will launch a cell biology & microbiology study to understand virulence factors that facilitate human pathogens' colonization of plants, which is one of the leading causes of food-borne illnesses.
